BeatZcat was born in Naples in August 2015 from the idea of ​​Vincenzo Pelliccia and Marco Scaringi. Parallel to the activity of organizing events dedicated to beatmaking and the production of tapes, thanks also to the collaboration with other city realities, there is the need to create a “virtual space” aimed at offering a wide overview of the local and national beat-scene , as well as the desire to give rise to connections with other collectives close to the idea of ​​the project.

To celebrate 3 years of activity of our blog, we have created “Zcatness: BeatZcat 3rd Anniversary Tape“, a collection of 34 songs by as many producers coming from Italy and the world.

#Zcatness is a full immersion in the world of beats: a journey through the many nuances of the most creative beatmaking, a varied tape where each artist gives a glimpse of his own world. Listening to it you come across the most sought-after lo-fi, with a never predictable sound, passing through jazzy atmospheres alternating more reflective moments, we can find the rap and wonky, but all traces are united by the leitmotif of creativity and maniacal research.
